Emacs must Die, Gosling

So after 20+ years Gosling realizes that Emacs was not the way to go?

I figure eventually that everyone realizes that the evolution path for editors just leads back to vi!

vi may be the one true religion, but i have lapsed.

do you actually use it anymore? i know that i did use it at least once under os x but i can't for the life of me remember when (why? i had a terminal window open and didn't feel like navigating through a finder window to open it in simpletext or whatever that thing is called). the other question is what on earth was i editing? don't remember that either.

Yep, I use vi daily :)

I use it through terminal though, not via a GUI. If a GUI did not suck... I might consider it. Mainly I copy and paste into textedit now a days.
