My laptop died for a second time today.

Work go *poof*

Why not just go get a new one?

Because I am waiting till October.... hoping Apple will release a
quad core...

This is assumes I don't toss this one out the window....

Yikes! Frustrating, to say the least.
October is around the corner though.

No, what you really want (okay, what I really want) is for Sun to release another SPARCbook, but this time based around the Niagra T2.

Yes, I want 64 cores in my laptop. I'm not kidding.

No I wouldn't, because I would never want Solaris as an OS for my laptop :)

I love Linux for servers, but I will still stick to OS X for laptops/desktops.

Why the hell are you doing work on a laptop without saving your data to a thumb drive?

The work is backed up, but that doesn't mean that you still don't lose the delta between backups. I code in such a manner that its very probable for me to have a full new working delta in just a few hours.

For me, I think the loss of a few hours' work would be intolerable. :)
