S3, Wikipedia, cost?

Interesting article up by Domas Mituzas on what it would cost for Wikipedia to use Amazon's S3.

The number he works out shows that S3 while cheap for storage, would be more expensive for Wikipedia in terms of bandwidth cost (as compared to them buying, building out, and administering their own hosts).

Does need to work out whether offloading just the peak traffic to decrease monthly 95th percentile value of the base load would be helpful, though.
