What does it take to get a bike stolen?

« previous entry | next entry »

There has been this bike in my basement for two years. The owner has
not been seen in over a year and no one has been able to contact them.

The bike is as far as I am concerned been abandoned.

I have now offered this bike to three different people... no one
wants it.

I put it on the side of my house on the alley side for three days.

No one stole it.

I put it in front of my house last night.

It was put back up in my yard.

Tonight I put it near the alley entrance and leaned it up against a
pole.

I live in Capital Hill, tens of thousands of bikes are stolen here
every year.

Ok, the tires aren't really filled so someone can not just ride off
on it, and it is the middle of the winter.

What does it take to get a bike stolen?

And no don't tell me to Freecycle it.

Its the principle here that is at stake!

I'll come get it. It looks nicer than mine.

OH, and if I don't like it, all I have to do is put it on my corner for like 5 minutes and it will be GONE.

Forgive me if I'm laughing.

You don't live in the steal-y part of Cap Hill. Try leaving it on Broadway.

If you put a sign on it that says "Bike $10" it will be gone in like 5 minutes.

How's this related to "Planet MySQL"? Or is it Planet Brian too? :-)

If you are seeing this on Planet MySQL, then they have broken their filtering!

My journal is pretty much anything I want to write about.. it is up to others to filter out what they want to aggregate.

I see... Your journal is naturally all yours, I did not mean to question that. Thanks for your clarifications.

Sorry if that sounded snappy :)

I am looking at their site right now, I think they have broken stuff.

This is my chance to start flooding the site with pictures of my dog!
