Looks like fungi of some kind. :) Might want to post to mycology for a more specific diagnosis.

Yup, it's a fungi that usually comes with potted soil and is hard to get rid of. Likely have to re-pot :(

I got them in a potted plant once. I read somewhere that it grows on decomposing plant matter in the soil. I used a very weak vinegar+water solution (10:1 water to vinegar, IIRC) and sprayed it directly on the fungus.. took care of it pretty well without harming the plant.

You know you can't just identify a mushroom with out really seeing more. Is the color yellow? Gills? Ring? Maybe a Yellow Parosol ( Leucocoprinus luteus ) maybe? http://www.flickr.com/photos/typefiend/766596770/
