iPhone, Android

Speaking as someone who buys a lot of Apple technology.

If Google can get Android out,

... and it is close to being on par with iPhone
... and it comes out as a 3G device with no vendor lock-in
... before Apple's June date for their 3G,
... or close to it
...

The decision of "which phone to get next" might be a lot harder.

I'll get a phone that supports python. Not necessarily an S60 phone.

Not for me. . . Google's 1st generation UI's are way better than Apple's 1st Gen ones.

Though I'm interested to see how Google will support hardware. (as in, interested to observe their customer service interactions)

"Locked to the vendor" simply sucks. Jobs is simply very good at selling things :-(

That is basically my issue. We've been going back and forth on this at work, where I work with a guy who used to do palm development and is still bitter about the platform committing seppuku, and the restrictions Apple is putting on the SDK is making it harder to love the IPhone. It's a slick interface, though, no question,
